    Social Media Community Manager: Group Brand

    We are looking for a qualified Community manager to join our team. If you are a tech-savvy professional with a passion for people and enthusiastic about social media and building brands, we would like to meet you.

    Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills, a keen interest in current affairs and is able to develop engaging content and have meaningful interactions across all social media platforms. You should be a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community.

    Ultimately, you should be able to act as the face and voice of our brand and manage all community communications.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Increase brand consideration, engagement and brand loyalty by developing Sanlam’s connection with their audience
    • Grow brand fan base by helping position Sanlam as an original, relatable and dependable brand
    • Help build brand personality and consumer trust
    • Always-on monitoring of all Sanlam and competitor social media platforms
    • Daily monitoring of social media landscape
    • Actively researching and engaging on current affairs and hot topics, fuelling conversation to the benefit of the Sanlam brand
    • Respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner
    • Support in social media crisis management
    • Participate in events (Sanlam, industry, etc.) to build community and boost brand awareness
    • Collaborate with agency to develop and distribute engaging text, image and video content for social media
    • Monitor and report on online sentiment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
    • Assimilate feedback from online communities about our products or campaigns
    • Coordinate with marketing, PR and communications teams to leverage activity and ensure brand consistency
    • Build online relationships with customers, potential customers, industry professionals and journalists
    • Stay up to date with current industry, cultural and technical trends

    Qualification And Experience

    • Batchelor’s degree in Marketing or relevant field
    • Proven working experience as a community manager
    • Experience in launching social media initiatives
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Good understanding of business, commerce and finance
    • Ability to distil complex topics into easily understandable messaging
    • Creative writing skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Ability to create content
    • PR know-how
    • Social media savvy
    • Good listener, empathy and adaptability
    • Understanding of community etiquette and respect
    • Ability to problem-solve when dealing with high pressure situations
    • Ability to identify and track relevant digital and social metrics

    Knowledge And Skills

    • Extensive knowledge of online marketing channels, tools, processes and funnels.
