Grade 12 bachelor’s degree in social work registration with the SACSSP as a social worker. Knowledge of social work theories, interventions and legislation. Computer Literacy, good communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties :
Render comprehensive social work services to patients, their families and community through the different social work methods and programmes. Ensure effective record keeping of social work interventions, processes and outcomes as well as maintain accurate statistics as prescribed.
Must be able to function within multi-disciplinary team and external stakeholders. Must be prepared to work in different units of the hospital, including the psychiatric unit as per rotation cycle and when allocated.
Implement mental health, substance abuse and other relevant legislation, regulations and policies. Keep abreast of developments within the profession. Assist with student supervision and contribute to the unit’s internal training and development needs.
NB: Certificate of Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions, proof of the Current year Registration to practice as a social worker, Driver’s license, computer literacy and Identity document.
