    Software Development Manager: Finance

    Purpose Of The Role

    Reporting to the Head of Data, the successful candidate will, as a member of the management team, be required to effectively lead the team while collaborating with the Finance department to execute the business technology portfolio and related activities. This is a key role for the business that requires an entrepreneurial individual who is able to direct and who will gain much satisfaction from solving a wide variety of challenging problems and playing a pivotal role within the FinTech Dev team. It requires someone who is passionate about Fin Development to enable the finance user to excellence using the systems in place.

    Duties Include, But Not Limited To
    Operating Duties

    • Management of multiple teams in conjunction with the respective Team Leads, including recruitment, appraisals, allocation of duties and other related management functions.
    • Develop and implement a skills assessment process for the Teams.
    • Report on individual growth plans as executed by the Team Leads.
    • Reinforce the Agile Methodology in line with Digi Tech guidelines.
    • Establish and drive the way of work throughout the pipeline from BI (technology partner), Nav/BC consultant, Nav/BC dev and TM1 Cognos
    • To remove impediments where possible and to raise the ones you can’t to the appropriate person outside of the teams and ensure they are dealt with.
    • Tight collaboration with the Finance user/specialist to identify points to improve of efficiency through process transformation and assurance
    • Understanding of the financial functions and controls and how that can be improved through the ERP systems in place.
    • Looking at the reporting tools and ensure the correct tool is being used to facilitate the decision makers.
    • Ensure the teams are collaborating closely with Finance and understand their requirements and final output.
    • Protect the teams by ensuring stress levels are managed.
    • Strives to develop high performance teams.
    • Supports team building and teams’ development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals and fostering a feedback culture.
    • Addresses teams’ needs efficiently and effectively.
    • Help teams to learn from their experiences.
    • Evaluate and enforce onboarding process for new starters in all disciplines.
    • Work together with product owners, architects and system owners to deliver high quality products.
    • Strive to ensure the teams are self-organizing and autonomous.
    • Ensure that duties are shared within each team and that tasks or activities do not become the responsibility of a single person (no knowledge silos).
    • Maintain healthy group dynamics.
    • Familiarize the teams with the finance needs, specifications, design targets and tools to support task performance.
    • Help keep the teams focused and on track by establishing roadmaps for all streams of work.
    • Establishes and/or co-ordinates programs of work in conjunction with the delivery team and team leads.

    Essential Criteria

    • Computer Science related degree, diploma or similar qualification with Accounting as a subject
    • At least 4 years' experience working in a Finance Software Development Team
    • 4 Years’ experience in a Fin Tech leadership position
