Job Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement

• Effectively communicates and implements processes and procedures in the team and with stakeholders.
• Ensures that all team processes and procedures are clearly documented, according to Derivco documentation standards.
• Identifies and ensures that the necessary processes and procedures are in place to meet business objectives.
• Integrates the team and department processes and procedures effectively with company wide processes and procedures.
• Reviews processes and procedures on a quarterly basis to determine effectiveness, efficiency and appropriateness.

Faciitated Project Delivery

• Communicates with external parties regarding the product, as and when necessary.
• Co-ordinates projects to ensure that prioritised deadlines are met.
• Effectively resolves escalated project risks.
• Monitors progress of projects to ensure that they are on track with the schedule.
• Provides status report to the SDM, on a weekly basis.
• Reviews documentation within project schedule.

Facilitated Software Develoopment

• Assists Project Manager with estimates for the planning of the project.
• Completes comprehensive and detailed documentation for the software developed, according to documentation standards and within project schedule.
• Determines most effective and efficient software design to meet specifications, when necessary.
• Develops software, as per Derivco standards, to meet the defined requirements within the agreed deadline and project schedule as and when required.

Managed Team

• Conducts performance appraisals of department members at least twice a year (Recommended on a quarterly basis)
• Documents the performance appraisal results and maintains a portfolio of evidence for each team member.
• Effectively allocates appropriate resources to projects, in conjunction with the Project Manager, to ensure that project deadlines and requirements are met.
• Ensures that company issues, policies and procedures are communicated to the team within 7 days.
• Ensures that the team business plan is aligned with the company strategy and working towards achieving the strategy.

Skills

• Meets Senior Developer criteria
• Manages a minimum of 4 staff
• Minimum of 2 - 3 years Team Lead experience AND At Management discretion
