Software Engineer Fixed Income at AES Africa

Working as part of the Fixed Income Investment team of Developers, you will be responsible for building out that platform, allowing for analytics and metrics for active investment activity.

This team had been an industry leader for many years and you will have the opportunity to dedicate your expertise to a function that takes it seriously and values highly. This platform will enable a critical part of the final decision-making process.

Based in Cape Town, this is a global role, and you will have a day to day exposure to portfolio decision-makers across the world.

Are you a full stack developer?

Do you have previous front office development experience?

• Key Technologies include: .Net core, JVM (or family)
• Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Redis, Python, R, Jenkins, and React.js
• You will have experience in software product development and previously engaged with key stakeholders. You will be able to give tangible examples of understanding their needs and how you addressed them from a technology perspective.
• You will be an innovator with a positive attitude.
• comfortable working with a multi-disciplinary investment team.
• Happy to collaborate with peer software developers.

Critical Experience:

• A BSc Honours degree - Computer Science, Engineering or related
• 5 years+ working as a software developer in a professional capacity.
• Experience of: Service-based architectures, variety of backend architectures, variety of paradigms
