The Solar Installation Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. The role ensures systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with electrical codes and renewable energy standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, batteries, and associated wiring
Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and system designs
Mount solar panels on rooftops or ground-mounted structures
Perform electrical wiring, connections, and system integration
Test and commission solar systems to ensure proper operation
Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults and performance issues
Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections
Work collaboratively with installers, engineers, and project managers
Maintain accurate job records, reports, and documentation
Requirements
Qualified Electrician (Trade Test / Certification)
Valid wireman’s license (where applicable)
Proven experience in solar PV installation (1–3+ years preferred)
Strong understanding of electrical systems and renewable energy technologies
