Space Intelligence Service Manager at South African National Space Agency (SANSA)

Description:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Space Intelligence Services Manager will provide an Earth Observation (EO) Space Intelligence capability to drive the EO programme. this position will develop, direct, and execute key and insightful strategies and tactics to facilitate decision support tools for government, industry knowledge, innovative research, and best-in-class practice to enhance the credibility of SANSA.

Key performance areas will include, but not limited to:

• EO Space Intelligence Development.
• EO Space Intelligence Strategy Development and Implementation.
• Financial and procurement management.
• People management.
• Project management.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

• Minimum of PhD qualification in Geospatial science with a strong background in remote sensing.
• evidence of domain understanding through remote sensing scientific publications in journals and conference proceedings.
• at least 10 years of experience in the EO space intelligence environment.
• demonstrated 5 years of experience managing diverse teams.
• ability to interact with a network of senior stakeholders and clients.
• Experience in remote sensing processing supply chains.
• insight into requirements of the EO Space Intelligence environment.
• understanding of business management processes.
• the position requires a scarce combination of Remote Sensing, IS, research, and leadership/management skills.
