Specialist Construction - Wessels Mine at South32

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• This role is a permanent full-time position.
• As a specialist construction, you will be responsible to oversee capital construction activities for sustainable projects across Mamatwan Mine with a focus on safety, quality and adherence to schedule

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Manage the all project execution activities at Mamatwan Mine wrt Safety, Quality and Schedule
• Oversee contractor supervisors
• Verify contractor WDW discussion inclusivity and quality at the start of each shift;
• Ensuring contractor ATW compliance;
• Ensure that PTOs are done on high risk jobs identified during WDW discussion and fatal risks identified in
• WRAC;
• Raise the general safety awareness and coaching of contractor employees on site;
• Enforcing a high housekeeping standard on site;
• Continuous verification of contractor activities against the plan;
• Updating of the Quality Control Plan (QCP) when required;
• Continuous quality verification on construction and installation work as per mine standard;
• Technical support and guidance to contractors;

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant construction & mining experience of which at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity;
• Material logistics – planning, receiving, dispatching, reconciling & stock management experience;
• Basic civil construction quality verification certificate or experience;
• Strong technical experience in mechanical, electrical and structural installations commissioning and handover

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science;
• N6 Technical Certificate;
• Valid trade test or a qualification in Construction management or a National diploma
• (Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering)
