The Company is looking to grow their Internal Audit department, by adding a new specialist IT auditor position to their team. They need a dynamic, self-sufficient person, well versed in IT governance and auditing processes, with a special focus on all things data.

Responsibilities: 

Main

• Help ingrain the IT audit function, established less than 2 years ago.
• Grow the IT audit function capabilities to include data analytics, ultimately guiding and/ or facilitating their switch to a digitalised audit approach, establishing continuous auditing processes (finance, operational and IT).
• This entails working closely with business, their existing Internal Audit team (especially the CA’s) and specifically the ALICE team, building their function’s continuous auditing capabilities through the existing ALICE modules and expansion of it via the ALICE lab (SQL-based), in conjunction with Alteryx and Power BI.

Additionally

• Build-on and grow their library of IT audit reviews (ranging from ITGC’s to application control and technical reviews), establishing methodology and standard procedures from set working papers to sampling approaches, request lists and report templates.
• Work with their existing IT auditor, providing guidance where necessary, including work review assistance, fulfilling a coaching role when needed, building and expanding on their IT audit knowledge, but ultimately growing the function with them as colleagues.
• In conjunction with the existing IT auditor, facilitate ISA 315 compliance, enhancing their processes to ensure external audit can rely on IA’s work and maturing the IT environments in scope to enable a controls approach in future. This would include implementation of a control-self-assessment process.
• Assist with establishing a division-wide IT manager meeting, facilitating quarter meetups, promoting idea-sharing, whether tools in use, learnings and/ or best practice related, for all matters IT, Risk, and Governance related, including Cybersecurity.

General

• Responsible for the full lifecycle of the audit end-to-end, from engagement initiation, right through to planning, fieldwork and report writing.
• Provide input into the IT internal audit scope and audit plan coverage for submission to the audit committee.
• Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management’s intervention.
• Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.

Requirements: 

• Comm Degree would be preferable, understanding of business and specifically accounting concepts required.
• Certified Information Systems Auditor.
• Proven work experience as an IT Auditor (3 – 4 years minimum), specifically data focused, and well versed in IT Governance practices.
• Alteryx knowledge, whilst a certification will be beneficial, it is not a prerequisite – willingness and ability to learn the tool will be the deciding factor.
• Advance computer skills, including MS Office and Power BI but specifically SQL scripting.
• High attention to detail.
