    Specialist Mechanical Engineer

    Job Description
    As a Specialist Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

    • Review and update of COPs, procedures, and technical standards
    • Ensure that new technologies are researched and introduced to optimize and improve Engineering efficiencies
    • Conduct best practices benchmarking in order to perform engineering tasks to the required standard.
    • Development Implement new Technical Standards.
    • Ensure that all contracts are in place to monitor actual contractor performance and compare to agree upon requirements.
    • Ensure that Engineering trainings are updated and in line with the procedures
    • Manage engineering processes safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet short term and long-term production objectives
    • Assess the training needs of the section against the defined skill requirements and develop and implement a training plan within your authority limits
    • Implement and contribute to continuous improvement and asset optimization initiatives and projects to ensure best practice engineering processes are in place.
    • Evaluate tenders in order to select the most suitable source of external services and for placement of orders.
    • Manage and register Engineering SIB projects
    • Manage the ORMP process within HME to ensure that all procedures and risks assessments are updated and complied with.
    • Manage the Contractors onboarding processes to ensure compliance to passport 360

    This role is in the Engineering HME department at a band 6 level, reporting to the Asset Strategy & Reliability Manager

    Qualifications
    You will be required to have the following:

    • Engineering Degree or Equivalent
    • Driver’s license: Code B

    Experience:

    • Relevant experience within the Engineering Environment
    • Technical experience in both HME and Plant
    • Relevant experience in an Engineering Management role within the Mining Industry
    • Experience in COPs, training and technical standards review
