Core Description
- Top notch Cisco Certified Network and Security Engineer to design, implement and monitor frameworks, policies, procedures, and standards to support the information security function.
- Provide expertise on the design of the network security topology, equipment and configuration and perform security implementation, review and testing activities.
Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
- Lead the implementation and delivery of operational security services, including new Client builds
- Lead technical delivery of security technologies and solutions
- Liaising with and advising the Client IT Manager or ISO on operational security matters.
- Support for and/or delivery of vulnerability assessments and audits.
- Customization of and implementation of a security control framework
- Assessment, implementation, and management of various security technologies
- Act as a primary contact for security operations for a customer.
- Facilitate security investigations
- Assist Client and Security team with Security artefact development, including policies, process, procedures and standards
- Security service and operational reporting
- Documentation and review of the Client information security and network architecture and the provide improvement recommendations.
- Guidance on global information security threat trends, new technology solutions and management responses
- Provide security risk assessment and advisory services to the customer and BCX
- High level operational management
- Providing mentoring to junior engineers

Minimum Qualifications
- NQF 6: 3 year Degree/ Diploma/ National Diploma in Information Technology or Technology
- OR NQF 4: Grade 12
Additional Qualification preferred or advantage
Experience
- 5 years relevant experience in Network and Security Engineering space
- 7 years relevant experience in Network and Security Engineering space if only Grade 12
- Cisco ISE, Stealthwatch and Umbrella
Understanding of ISO27001 controls and the implementation thereof
Certifications
- Applicable industry certification is required
- CCDP (Cisco certified design professional)
- CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert)
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
- Fortinet NSE6 or 7
Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry
Level of Engagement & Span of Control
This position engages at the same level during normal operations with internal peers, suppliers and customers. During escalations, the engagement with internal, client and supplier typically up to two levels up and on occasion C-band.
