SQL & C# Developer and System Support Specialist at Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Limited

The candidate will be responsible for the Stress Testing and financial analysis and insights in order to support business decision making and financial reporting. It will also be required to perform development of new and the maintenance of existing modules, system administration and operational support functions for the Operations team.

Responsibilities and work outputs

This role will be responsible for delivery in the following areas of expertise:

Stress Testing/Financial Modelling

•  Perform stress testing on instruments and efficiently communicate results of analyses with relevant stake holders.
• Build working relationships with business and technical teams to accomplish all the tasks.
• Maintain, enhance and implement financial models for stress testing.
• Identify trends and patterns that highlight anomalies, identify relationships and tracking exceptions.

Financial Analysis

• Provide financial analysis in the form of descriptive analysis on stress results across all instrument classes, types and stress scenarios.
• Do comparisons on previous stress inputs and results.
•  Identify and provide insight and feedback on anomalies.

Data Quality

•  Identify, understand, interpret data structures across various data sources.
• Source data and complete data extracts across a variety of systems in order to gather data in the applicable format.
• Build validation tests around input data and stress results.
• Perform ETL (extract, transform and load) processes to assist with data mining exercises.
• Contribute to data integrity and cleansing activities in order to increase the quality of data.
• Collate data into the applicable format for reporting to internal and external stake holders.

Internal Processes

• SQL Server Administration (User and Security Administration, Database Administration).
• Write T-SQL ‘programs' for investment operations and financial reporting area.
• Creation of new ETL processes that interfaces with the company ERP system.
• Maintenance of existing ETL processes, C# programs, SQL Server and SSIS programs.
• Develop, maintain and support existing applications.
• Assisting other developers with daily work load.
• Technical support of operational personnel to perform their daily duties.
• Security and permission administration of File Servers and Folder Shares.
• Maintenance and Administration of the key operational applications including the back-end database (Including general setup, maintenance, backups, restores and upgrading of software).

Experience and Qualifications

• A degree in Quantitative Analysis, Finance or Mathematics and Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3-5 years Financial modelling analysis experience within an insurance/finance environment is essential.
• A good understanding of financial asset classes, types and instruments is essential.
• Excellent MS Excel skills - VB code and macros, complex formulas, VLookups, External References is essential.
• Solid experience with SQL (queries, stored procedures, functions) is essential.
• Experience with .Net (C#) and SSIS would be advantageous.
