Qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse and proof of current registration.
A minimum of 1 year appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as an Enrolled Nurse.
Compulsory shift work and flexibility. Competencies: Demonstrate an understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, supervisors and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Must be able to work under pressure.
Duties :
Able to perform clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the health facility. Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure good nursing care.
Ensure safe and effective clinical nursing practice. Display a concern for patients, promoting and advocating for proper treatment and care including awareness and willingness to respond to patient’s needs, requirements and expectations.
Maintain ethical standards and patient advocacy. Ensure that the Nursing standards are upheld and maintained and that a safe and therapeutic environment is always maintained. Ability to perform activities of daily living and monitoring of patient outcomes. Ability to administer medication and observe for side effects. Ability to use medical equipment effectively and assist with minor procedures.
Demonstrate basic understanding of nursing procedures. Implement Infection Control and Waste management principles. Ensure that the Ideal Hospital Realization Framework is adhered to. Able to provide health education to the client and family members. Able to work collaboratively with RNS, other health professionals and patients’ families to provide holistic care and contribute to care plans.
