The above opportunity exists for energetic and self-motivated individuals to join our National Marketing Department based in Johannesburg (Gauteng).  The position will primarily focus on maximising the returns from the sales of Starke Ayres’ approved range of seed products within the specified product portfolio (Tomatoes / Peppers / Brinjals).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluates Starke Ayres’ seed product range on an ongoing basis and recommend new cultivar introductions to, and deletions from, the product range
• Develop and implement product and marketing strategies and provide specialized product and marketing input
• Develop long-term relationships with strategic customers and regularly visits current and potential customers and ensure continuous communication is maintained.
• Compile financial- and unit budgets and monitor unit sales of products on an ongoing basis.
• Identify the national product / technical training needs of sales staff and coordinate the implementation of a sustained national product training programme.
• Provide technical and sales support for sales teams on the relevant crops

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:

• BSc degree in Agriculture / Horticulture
• (Honours / Masters degree an added advantage)
• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in the vegetable and turfgrass seed industry
• A solid background in providing technical support within a marketing and sales environment will be required.
• Financial Acumen and computer literacy (intermediate level) essential
