A role has become available for a Reach Truck Driver for our Warehouse in Kempton Park. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for moving seed / goods around warehouses or other storage on the site. Load and unload deliveries from trucks and stack boxes/ bags for storage purposes throughout the warehouse. Operating the reach truck with utmost care to ensuring safety and efficiency in the storage facilities and warehouses in line with company policies, procedures, and quality specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Unpacking and/or off-loading of containers/trucks with seed/goods by operating a reach truck with a valid reach operator’s license.
Assist with the unpacking of containers and trucks with seed/goods in cases where the operation of a reach truck is not a requirement.
Assist with accurate checking and counting of stock received
Ensure to stack and place seeds/goods in the correct areas/shelves with the reach truck.
Report quality deficiencies on seed, and packaging material i.e., labels, bags, cartons, packets, etc. in conjunction with the Manager / Supervisor.
Identify damaged stock and report to Manager / Supervisor.
Report all shortages of seed/goods to the Manager / Supervisor
Ensure that quality procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
Assist with loading and/or off-loading of consignments of seed/packaging material / discarded seed lots for destruction.
Assist with the preparation and finalization (correct stacking and shrink wrapping of seed/goods onto pallets) of all orders when required to do so.
Assist with transporting seed/packaging materials to production workstations
Assist with the transferring of cleaned and packed down seed lots to the warehouses.
Participate / Assist with a bi-annual stock take of seed and packaging material.
