Steel Detailer - contractor position at Hatch

As the successful candidate, you will: 

• Coordinate the work of draftspersons and senior draftspersons in the preparation of GA Erection, Assembly and Part Drawings, record keeping and other statistical work
• Work on softwares like Tekla/X-Steel for Steel Detailing developing 3D models
• Produce GA Erection, Assembly and Part Drawings for all types of steel structures including conveyors and platework
• Check drawings prior to release
• Ensure coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines
• Perform interface check with Engineering models
• Verify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities

You bring to the role:

• Engineering diploma (N Dip) or African Academy drafting qualification / SAISC qualification ( SA institute of Steel Construction)
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Steel Detailing
• Proficient in Steel detailing softwares like Tekla/ X-Steel
• Excellent experience on creating and developing 3D models and drawing extraction using Tekla/ X-Steel
• Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPCM environment
• Experience with heavy industrial structures
• Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project
• Understanding of other discipline requirements
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good safety awareness.
• Ability to take ownership and Responsibility of assigned work
