PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To render a quality logistical service to all internal and external stakeholders by ensuring that the entire engineering stores function is operational as per the McCain standards. To assist and relieve the storeman on leave as and when required.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Housekeeping:
Ensure that the engineering stores are kept clean, tidy and at the agreed standard at all times including outside area, spares containers and spares dispatch storage.
Ensure that the forklift is clean and daily inspections are carried out. Applicable if engineering stores have a dedicated forklift.
Ensure that a safe work environment is maintained at all times.
Compliance to HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
Stock transactions:
Assist with the returning of goods to suppliers.
Ensure that received goods are placed in the correct bin locations.
Ensure that all stock that is issued, is handled as per the agreed standard. (GMP/food safety)
Ensure that the stock records on the SAP system are maintained and accurate.
Ensure that the stock issue form is kept up-to-date as and when stock is drawn from the stores.
Issue fire extinguishers, gas for canteen and diesel.
Take diesel readings from diesel tanks to ensure diesel level is maintained.
Control of tools’ store, ensuring tools are signed in/out of stores.
Reverse unused items back to inventory.
Create new bin location and print labels for new stock items.
Ensure job card policy is enforced when engineering personnel draw stock from stores.
Create job cards for consumables items, ZNVL.
Receive engineering spares/parts/tools.
Resolve stock queries.
Cycle counts/ Stocktake:
Perform weekly cycle counts on SAP.
Conduct monthly stock take to ensure accuracy of spares.
Assist in investigating any stock variances.
Create physical document on sap for stock and cycle count.
Identify and report on any stock that might be redundant/obsolete or damaged.
General assistance:
Ensure that all reasonable instructions are adhered to.
In the event of any damages occurring, incident must be reported immediately to the Store Supervisor.
Ensure that all step ladders and scaffolding are labelled and safe to use.
Ensure that lifting tackles are tagged with a correct tag before issuing to Artisans.
Manage and control key issuing process of the building and skyjacks/scissor jack.
Receiving of spares:
Timely receive goods in SAP according whilst ensuring it matched the purchase order quantity, descriptions and price.
Ensure to inspect material physically.
Ensure the Purchase Order (PO) number is stated on delivery note/invoice.
Return the incorrect items to supplier.
Ensure to print the bin labels.
Resolving BPO Queries (WNS workflow):
Resolve BPO and supplier queries.
Solving invoice issues with Store Supervisor and/or Superintendent.
Ensure customer queries are handled on time to ensure payments are made on time.
REQUIREMENTS:
Matric (Grade 12)
Minimum of 1 year experience in Engineering Stores
Computer literate (SAP & Microsoft Office)
Preferably be in possession of a valid forklift driver’s license
