Purpose of Job

• To execute and support day-to-day warehouse and materials management activities in a safe, efficient and controlled manner. The Storeman is responsible for the accurate receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, picking, issuing and movement of materials, while ensuring compliance with SAP processes, warehouse procedures, governance requirements, safety standards and applicable internal controls.
• The role contributes to maintaining accurate stock levels, effective warehouse operations, good housekeeping and high standards of material availability and service delivery to internal customers.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform effective of day-to-day operations including receiving, binning, compliant stacking and
• storage practices, picking and issuing.
• Execute SAP transactions with regards to Warehouse related activities timeously and accurately.
• Participate in periodic, perpetual and ad-hoc stock counts and assist with the investigation and resolution of variances.
• Maintain accurate documentation and traceability for all material movements. Ensure corrective actions are taken for deviations found regarding materials, storage practices or preservation.
• Support the safe and efficient movement of materials using appropriate material-handling equipment. (Forklift, Stacker, Trollers, Pallet-Jack etc).
• Perform activities of warehouse activities in accordance with the Governance and Compliance
• Framework through execution of internal management controls, SOX controls, document
• controls and any other controls required towards assurance of legal compliance.
• Perform all other Warehouse activities as required which includes, housekeeping, painting and selected hand-tool utilisation.
• Identify and report all defects, hazards and risks to mitigate safety related incidents.

Formal Education

• High School / School Diploma or similar

Work Experience

• 2+ relevant year’s relevant warehouse, stores or materials management experience.
• Previous experience working with SAP ERP system.

Additional requirements

• Motor Vehicle Valid Licence
• Valid Forklift Licence.
• Stacker Licence will be advantageous.
• Experience operating other authorised material-handling equipment.
• Relevant warehouse, inventory or materials-handling certification.
