The Store assistant responsible for the hands-on management of inventory within a warehouse, encompassing receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining accurate inventory records
Managing stock levels and replenishment
Preparing and loading shipments
Ensuring efficient stock flow and organization Requires strong physical fitness, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under the supervision of a store Supervisor.
Assist in receiving, handling, and inspecting incoming inventory to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
Organize and maintain stock levels in storage areas, ensuring all products are correctly labeled and stored.
Process outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and arranging transportation of goods to customers or other locations.
Perform regular stocktaking and inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
Support the team by maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate timely order fulfillment and resolve any inventory-related issues.
Utilize inventory management software to update records and track movements of stock efficiently.
Participate in training and development sessions to enhance skills and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
Grade 12/Matric
Qualification related to Supply Chain and Logistics
Proven track record in a similar stores or inventory management role, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
Familiarity with inventory control systems or software, along with basic computer proficiency.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies and ensure accurate stock management.
Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, complying with workplace health and safety standards.
Basic numeracy skills for managing stock levels and conducting audits effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years in administrative roles, basic knowledge of inventory management Proficient with SAP usage and understanding.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Attention to detail
Proficient in basic computer skills, including data entry and navigation
Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with warehouse team members to achieve shared goals and objectives.
