    Stores Team Leader

    Job Purpose    

    • The Stores team leader will co-ordinate and manage the continuous availability of stock according to production requirements and is responsible for applying and implementing sound Supply Chain management practices.

    Principal Accountabilities    

    • Interpret and integrate information from the production areas to ensure the availability of stock according to production schedules on a daily basis
    • Set and manage par levels of stock according to flight schedules and meal specifications to ensure continuous availability of stock according to the organizations stock cycle policy to meet expectations of flight passenger schedules
    • Monitor the delivery of raw materials according to the delivery schedule to ensure stock is delivered timeously at the right quantity.
    • Ensure that Goods Received Vouchers and Purchase Orders are matched and captured to enable efficient stock control and initiate payment of suppliers.
    • Monitor the re-ordering of raw materials according to set par levels, to ensure continuous stock availability according to stock cycles.
    • Allocate resources according to storage locations to ensure effective stock control according to stock levels, ensure that accurate stock is available at all times on the floor and on systems thus balancing.
    • Interpret and analyses variances on month basis. Provide regular detailed reports and resolution of related variances to the GM: Operations.
    • Control batch management of stock.
    • Conduct and control stock takes on monthly basis.
    • Oversee and manage the receiving of all stocks to absolute accuracy to Delivery Notes.
    • Ensures on time delivery to kitchens.
    • Responsible for the hygiene monitoring of expiry dates; thorough rotation (first in first out) and Infestation control of all stocks.
    • Complies to Procurement and Logistics Procedures
    • Implements organizational changes within own are of responsibilities
    • Designs and recommends changes to policies and procedures for approval by the GM: Operations
    • Manages subordinates' activities to ensure the achievement of targets and standards.
    • Manage time and attendance of sub-ordinates.
    • Assess performance of sub-ordinates and ensure the appropriate ER actions are implemented to correct nonperformance.
    • Interact with stores customer and ensure that they get good service
    • Interact with procurement so that stock is available timeously
    • Lead, allocate, and control daily work activities of stores staff
    • Train and coach staff on food safety, hygiene, stock handling, and system use
    • Conduct toolbox talks and reinforce compliance and housekeeping standards
    • Support performance management and disciplinary processes
    • Adhere to and ensure sub-ordinates adhere to all guidelines related to of Security, SHE, HACCP, ISO 22000 and operational policies and procedures.
    • Enforce compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000 / FSSC, aviation authority standards, and internal procedures
    • Ensure cold chain integrity and proper temperature control during handling
    • Maintain audit-ready documentation and storage conditions
    • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
    • Ensure correct use of PPE and hygiene practices in stores areas    

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Diploma in Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Food Safety (NQF Level 6)
    • 3–5 years’ experience in a stores or warehouse environment
    • Minimum 2-4 years in a supervisory or team leader role
    • Proven experience in food production, FMCG, or aviation catering (preferred)

    • Knowledge of end-to-end stores processes including receiving, storage, issuing, returns, and dispatch
