Subject Matter Expert – Python Programmer at Shaw Academy

The Job

Shaw Academy is looking for a subject matter expert who has a proven track record of working in the programming field to work with our team of educators to curate a brand-new course for thousands of students worldwide.   This is a short term contract position with the potential to become full time.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field and have at least 3 - 5 years of industry experience and a recognised qualification in Information technology. You will have an in-depth knowledge of Python, Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Web Development languages such as HTML; Javascript as well as SQL Database knowledge. In addition to this, you will have a proven track record in working with Agile Software Methodologies

Essential skills you will need to do the job:

• Be a proven subject matter expert
• Be able to develop and organise your knowledge into a comprehensive and structured curriculum of 32 lessons aimed at a novice entry level programmer advancing to a proficient level.
• Work with our production and quality assurance team to develop engaging lessons and provide feedback to ensure that our students have an outstanding learning experience. 
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Be flexible and open to change.
• Open to critical feedback and work well under pressure.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise accordingly.
