    Supervisor Health and Safety

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications with English literacy.
    • Be in possession of a blasting ticket(UG) or engineering qualification(Trade) .

    The Appointee should:

    • At least 5 years’ experience in Mining or Engineering Environment.
    • At least 5 years ‘experience in drafting Standards and Procedures and other governance documents.
    • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
    • Clear security screening record.

    Advantageous Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Safey Management.
    • Computer Literacy.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The Supervisor Health and Safety (Standards) is accountable for the establishment and maintenance of administrative system and processes to support the effective and efficient recording, tracking and management of governance documents, aimed at achieving continual improvement and which meet leading industry practice requirements and legal requirements.
    • Distribute and manage communication/ comments on governance documentation to the relevant parties for input and comments, via email before Standards Committee meeting.
    • Responsible to ensure that all relevant documentation and legislation was considered during the draft and/ or review of governance documents.
    • Ensure that documents are well written, understandable, and checked for spelling and grammatical errors.
    • Ensure that each governance document is assigned a unique reference number and title.
    • Responsible to update and manage standards registers.
    • Responsible to ensure documents are signed off on PDF and Signing Hub.
    • Ensure that the final document is distributed/ published and uploaded on the relevant Document Management System.
    • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross functionally.
    • Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
    • Liaising with the necessary entities on any safety management related requirements and alignment where applicable.
    • Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of governance documents to enhance processes.
    • Leading and driving cost saving and cash conservation initiatives.
    • Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.
    • SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative.
    • Maintain and comply with SHEQ standards within the work environment.
    • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
    • Instil a culture of SHE leadership within the department.
    • Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System.
    • Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence .
    • Improve our position on global industry cost curve.
