    Superintendent Health and Safety

    The Appointee should:

    • NQF 6 (National Diploma or an Advanced Certificate) Health & Safety / Risk / Mining / Processing / Engineering OR Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Practice in Mining (WCL2)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Health & Safety Management  Determines objectives and targets with regards to Health and Safety systems and services, costs, health and safety and labour requirements by ensuring that certified and detailed Health and Safety system and plans are in place and are communicated and understood by relevant parties  Ensures that tactical requirements for the Health and Safety Unit are implemented by advising Management and stakeholders on matters relating to Health and Safety and provides input for company policies and procedures.  Informs Management on tactical issues within the scope of Health and Safety Unit’s function that do or could impact on business. Offers recommendations for solutions to address such situations.  Ensures that matters of tactical value are executed within the Health and Safety Unit’s function by conducting regular follow-ups and reviews on related policies and procedures as well as assisting and advising where necessary.  Compiles and manages the annual budget by identifying future needs related to historical and current trends and assumptions.     • Operational  Implements, certifies and maintains Health and Safety Systems (ISO 14001) by implementing Policies, Standards and Procedures in accordance with best practice and legal requirements, ensuring that Management systems are subject to regular audits and reviews, recording non-conformance and implementing corrective action.  Schedules and undertakes periodic Health and Safety audits and inspections for all units – identifies deviances and initiates corrective action. Follows up regularly,  Interprets, implements and maintains programmes for the effective monitoring of Health and Safety characteristics by reporting on Health and Safety performance indicators, ensuring compliance to requirements and that continuous improvement in Health and Safety conditions are achieved and that reporting of Health and Safety data to regulatory bodies is undertaken  Coordinates Health and Safety projects effectively by identifying, defining and planning with due regard to inputs from interested and affected parties, obtaining necessary regulatory approval, scoping projects and procuring finance and services.     Supervisor Health and Safety

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The Supervisor Health and Safety (Standards) is accountable for the establishment and maintenance of administrative system and processes to support the effective and efficient recording, tracking and management of governance documents, aimed at achieving continual improvement and which meet leading industry practice requirements and legal requirements.
    • Distribute and manage communication/ comments on governance documentation to the relevant parties for input and comments, via email before Standards Committee meeting.

    Surface Risk Electrician

    The Appointee should:

    • Completed Trade Test - Certified Competent as Electrician
    • Qualified Electrician Trade Certificate through a recognised institution and apprenticeship / 3 years post Apprenticeship/Qualification experience (can be concurrent with the PDL trade experience)
    • Candidates holding a QCTO (Section 26D) Trade Test, where the learning route is not specified on the Certificate, must submit the following: Statement of results issued by an accredited MQA trade test centre as well as evidence of training conducted at a technical training centre (e.g., Portfolio of Evidence, Logbooks). Should these documents not be submitted, the application will not be considered. Candidates holding S28 Trade Test certificates from non-Mining Sector centres will not be considered.

    Mine Overseer Operations UG

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    Supervisor Investigation

    The Appointee should:

    • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
    • Successfully undergo a security screening and clearance, with no criminal record and judgements
    • Be in a possession or have the ability to obtain a firearm competency certificate issued by the SAPS as per the new Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000
    • Be in a possession of a valid driver’s licence with the ability to drive
    • Have at least 5 years’ experience in commercial investigation role
    • Have Grade A registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) or the ability to obtain one with 3 months

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prevention, detection and investigation of various types of Commercial Crimes and irregular activities within Sibanye-Stillwater
    • Co-ordinating and participating in overt/covert operations that assists with the detection of white-collar crimes
    • Liaison with relevant role players within the SAPS, Department of Justice, National Prosecuting Authority, Sibanye-Stillwater and other strategic partners in the government and private sector
    • To conduct Forensic Reviews within procurement environment towards spending and identify possible risks and vulnerabilities towards the business
    • Developing and maintaining essential informer networks to gather information
    • Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders
    • Collaborating/liaising with internal and external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance investigative processes and collecting and collating evidence

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Engineering Fitter  Do pre and post assessments of equipment sent for repairs: pumps, locos and loaders  Providing and maintaining a safe environment for all employees by ensuring full compliance to the Health and Safety regulations  Completing daily registers and job cards  Perform breakdown maintenance.  Perform tool changeovers on hydraulic presses  Inspect, service, repair, and overhaul machinery.
    • Standards Enforcement and Quality Assurance  Assist in establishing programs to maintain and improve the quality of maintenance and the maintenance systems employed to minimize unplanned downtime on key equipment.  Ensure that employees have clear work expectations and plans  Direct maintenance personnel to continuously evaluate compliance and strict adherence to the established procedures and policies.  Assist in establishing a monitoring system to measure maintenance quality and improvement initiatives.  Provide technical assistance and direction to other functional groups in order to drive quality improvements and enhance the maintenance function.  Interface with regulatory agencies for complaint investigation and technical interchanges to present the company viewpoint, and during regulatory inspections serve as the subject matter expert.  Assist in establishing cross functional teams to address cleaning, lubrication and first line maintenance functions.
    • Planning and Scheduling  Facilitates a one to three-year maintenance management strategy for the operations.  Liaises with planned maintenance officers to ensure inspection and audit findings are scheduled for remediation in accordance win the established priorities.  Monitors compliance to maintenance schedules and programs interventions to remedy deviations.  Actively manage legal maintenance compliance.  Assist with the preparation of schedules and the supervision of major works/shutdowns.  Develop the critical spares and sub assembly register for all equipment on the operations.  Allocate labour resources and equipment to scheduled and priority activities so as to maintain and ensure high levels of labour, equipment and operational performance standards.
    • Information and Early equipment Management  Ensures that equipment data, nomenclature, descriptions, component serialisation are correct as captured in the ERP System.  Updates technical manuals and documents as appropriate.  Develops equipment and process performance parameters for monitoring purposes.  Continuously review equipment task lists in the system in light of maintenance improvements, equipment developments and modifications.  Participation and representation in relevant forums.  Keep up to date with the latest technology available.  Compile accurate and professional reports.  Provide direction and participates in new equipment specifications.  Conduct and participate in RCM exercises for all new equipment before commissioning establishing the maintenance strategies and task lists to be adopted.  Participate in Group wide RCM template development and review for primary production equipment and review for primary production equipment.
