    TB Support Officer (Durban)

    Job Purpose:

    • To increase TB case finding by providing screening and testing of high-risk groups.
    • To trace and link to care people diagnose with TB, but not started on treatment and people who interrupted treatment
    • To improve treatment adherence by educating and counselling TB patients

    Objectives: 

    • To find persons with undiagnosed TB in communities.
    • To improve treatment outcomes by ensuring adherence to treatment and retention in care.

    General responsibilities: 

    • Conduct TB screening and specimen collection on close contacts of TB patients and other high-risk groups at community level.
    • Refer those who test positive and sick household contacts to the nearest clinic. 
    • Conduct tracing of people (Including TB patients) who miss clinic appointments.
    • Conduct door-to-door outreaches,
    • Support Mobile DCXR outreach to increase demand for TB screening services
    • Conduct patient education and counselling for TB patients.
    • Support adherence clubs to enhance adherence and retention in care for TB patients
    • Report daily to the supervisor (ENA)
    • Capturing daily activities on M&E tools

    Requirements

    Qualifications:  

    • Grade 12 or equivalent

    Advantageous

    • Certification as a Community Health Care Worker will be an advantage

    Marketing & Communications Manager - Parktown

    Technical Responsibilities

    • Strategically promote Aurum programmes, projects, partnerships and events through varied communications channels.
    • Ensure that integrated communication and engagement activities speak to key marketing objectives highlighted in the strategy and operation plan.
    • Advocating for the value of communications and marketing with internal stakeholders
    • Increase the reach and impact of Aurum’s profile and visibility through the delivery of high value and influential marketing, communications, thereby significantly contributing to the development of new programme partnerships and funding opportunities
    • Supervise Communications Team to deliver content in line with the Marketing & Communications Strategy and ensure that Aurum communicates in a consistent, accurate, professional and prompt manner with all key audiences.
    • Working with Communications Team, keep the Marketing & Communications Strategy under review and update Strategy Action Plan on an annual basis.
    • Ensure that key resources are obtained, engaged and managed against agreed objectives and within agreed budget.
    • Develop measures for evaluating the effectiveness of communications and advertising

    Marketing & Brand

    • Advise on marketing and communications requirements for all units.
    • Oversee Aurum’s social media channels in line with guidelines within the Marketing & Communications Strategy.
    • Execute and manage social media campaigns to build followers, enhance visibility, and drive engagement.
    • Conduct analysis to assess the performance of digital content.
    • Build relationships with units and programmes within Aurum to provide regular content contributions.
    • Work with internal resources and external agencies to provide content to third-party publishers on a regular basis.
    • Ensure all campaigns and content are in compliance with the Marketing & Communications Strategy and the organisation’s overall Strategic Plan.
    • In conjunction with external digital agency create a development plan for Aurum’s website to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
    • Oversee website maintenance, ensure that it is updated regularly with images, news, video and new copy as appropriate, in liaison with marketing and communications colleagues.
    • Identify key goals for analytics data and use together with information on traffic, to inform development decisions

    Stakeholder Management

    • Formulate strategies for building and maintaining effective stakeholder relations.
    • Provide effective feedback, advice and guidance on communications related function to staff.
    • Ensure that communication projects are fully provided for in budgets and cost estimates are accurate.
    • Liaise with departments to ensure effective communication of programmes
    • Liaise with department heads to ensure that Marketing and Communications is at the core of all Programme work plans.
    • Managing internal and external stakeholder expectations, ensuring a clear vision is set out.

    People Management

    • Lead the team on delivering high-quality, high-profile programmes which reach a wide audience
    • Individual development needs are identified and met.
    • Formal performance feedback is conducted every trimester.
    • High performance individuals are identified and rewarded.
    • Under achievers are identified and remedial action is taken positively and timeously

    Requirements

    Education:

    • Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or equivalent

    Experience:

    • 10 to 12 years of experience in marketing and communication roles, with 3 to 5 years of experience in a management role. Experience in marketing and communication in the international non-profit sector, an added advantage
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Ability to work independently, with senior stakeholders across a matrixed structure
    • Strong relationships with media
    • Proven work experience in digital marketing

     Technical Competencies

    • Strong knowledge of health sector
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; strong command of grammar, spelling and style.
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision, and as a part of a team.
    • Strong understanding of research ethics ensuring participant data and sensitive information is kept confidential.
    • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and shift priorities frequently, with little notice, and as necessary
    • Ability to work within tight deadlines to produce quick turnarounds
    • Ability to engage in advocacy
    • Ability to ensure that risk standards and procedures have been adhered to.
    • Ability to monitor and report on compliance

    Grants Management Specialist II - Parktown

    YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

    Business Development:

    • Identify/source potential business in line with Aurum’s strategic objectives and participate in organisational discussions to develop new research and programmatic ideas.
    • For selected Donor opportunities, assist in the development process, ensure quality control and support submission of funding proposals in conjunction with a Grants Manager and a technical lead.
    • Support the post-proposal submission period, including (if applicable) coordination of responses to questions; facilitate award/contract negotiation and finalisation, including potential subawards/subcontracts; facilitating post-submission debriefings and transition to delivery team(s)

    Grants and Contracts Management:

    • Support the overall Grant/Contract administration for projects/programmes in portfolio, in conjunction with a Grants Manager
    • Ensure compliance with both internal and external (funder) policies and regulations.
    • Support accurate and timeous submission of reports both internally and externally, including prior approval requests.
    • Support the optimal usage of Donor funds and resources to meet programmatic – and/or project needs.
    • Ensure effective sub-award/sub-contractor management including contract amendments, review and approval of reports and invoices, prior approval requests, disbursements and Donor compliance.
    • Continuous monitoring of compliance and risk assurance monitoring and coordination, and proactively highlight any potential risks/issues.

    Programme Management Support:

    • Act as an internal resource for grant compliance to Programme/Project Managers, Partners and other (internal) support departments
    • Provide support to the Grants Manager in various capacities.
    • Act as a point of contact for partner organisations
    • Assist in providing internal capacity development of Project Managers in terms of funder requirements, budgeting and financial management.

    Human Capital Management (If Applicable):

    • Training of project staff to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organisation.
    • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

    Effective self-management and performance ownership:

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration
    • Project Management advantageous
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in grant management in a Donor environment
    • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of NIH, CDC, USAID and EU rules and regulations
    • Basic legal knowledge with regards to contracts
    • ERP systems experience
    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    • Attention to detail paired with holistic view
    • Time-management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Advanced computer knowledge (Office suite)
