Supply Chain Manager (Business Operations & Innovation) at Samsung Electronics

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

• To ensure implementation of Supply Chain Management guidelines from HQ Korea across SAMSUNG SSA in order to ensure compliance by all divisions
• To localise the global SAMSUNG Supply Chain Management guidelines in order to fit the local context
• To undertake initiatives in order to improve the efficiency of Supply Chain Management systems and processes
• To manage forecasts and create purchase orders in the system in order to ensure procurement of products from overseas suppliers
• To ensure product flow is efficient and devoid of problems in order to reduce the turn-around time and increase efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years B Com. In Supply Chain Management  
• 3-5 years of relevant experience

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

1. Run the business

• Manage and administer the Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) system for HA
• Ensure compliance to SCM HQ guidelines for HA 
• Monitor Supply Chain Management KPIs for HA including MBOs 
• Provide guidance to the HA division with respect to SCM processes and systems, address queries and escalated issues and assist with troubleshooting 
• Monitor shipments and highlight issues in case of delay 
• Automate the SCM system by creating standard templates

2. Lead the business

• Provide relevant training to the sales team within the division. 
• Maintain Purchase and Sales Inventory system (PSI) for respective sales division 
• Conduct planning, along with Key Account Managers and Product Managers, for movement of aging stock  
• Monitor demand plan for the sales week by comparing it with the current orders in the system and all orders that are processed by the order desk team 
• Monitor order progression through PSI system until it reaches the end consumer and facilitate swift sales on the distribution side

3. Innovate the business

• Initiate and implement changes to make the SCM systems and processes more effective and efficient 
• Act as the custodian of GSCM systems by addressing all escalated issues and ensuring that the system remains error free 
• Conduct analysis based on sales performance and inventory level to facilitate sell out 
• Initiate and implement changes to improve efficiency of the inventory management systems

4. Grow the business

• Understand the business objectives to ensure effective management of area of responsibility 
• Constantly raise awareness about changes in business processes with respect to SCM and provide necessary guidance to all business divisions 
• Stay abreast of latest developments in the industry

5. Build the business

• Take responsibility for self-development through self-study, identification of learning opportunities
