Supply Planner at Avon

What you'll be doing:

• Ensuring the highest possible service level is achieved by strategically
• optimizing product flow through the supply chain. Stabilize New Product Development (NPD) agenda and deliver NPD on time in full.
• Effectively minimize inventory cost and control functions to planning department standards. Minimize Air freight spend through effective
• forward planning and SLA management.

Key responsibilities:

Job Description / Key Accountabilities:

• Balance daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly supply and demand issues whilst maintaining inventory targets.
• Liaison with local and regional planners, marketing and sales to ensure service delivery.
• Facilitating Risk Review meetings.
• Collating and processing of statistical information.
• Proactively liaise with stakeholders in the supply chain to improve service levels, reduce inventory, and air freight costs.
• Evaluating purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
• Preparation of Supply review slides.
• Version control – responsible for system accuracy
• Analyse stock-on-hand figures to actively drive down inventory days.
• Manage the NPD process and Stage gate from initiation to Completion to order placement to CMs.
• Campaign readiness preparation report – to highlight operational consequences and needs.
• Concorde system setup before campaign go-live date.
• Run down stock quantities in readiness for new product entries and phase outs (Status Conversion) - (PIPO).
• Liaise and support the marketing department on any initiatives to deplete excess , aged or discontinued stock items through Inventory reduction
• initiatives.
• Manage the complete Gifting process.
• Manage the Red List/ Expired Materials at All CM’s.
  • Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality
• Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.

  • Estimating the amount of material, and equipment for production.

Education:

• Relevant University Degree (pref. Supply Chain Related).

Work Experience:

•  Proven experience working as a production planner.
•  Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software.
•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•  Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•  Effective communication skills.

Skills & Competencies

•  Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
•  Demonstrated knowledge of best-in-class supply chain and planning practices.
•  Demonstrated knowledge of lean supply chain practices
•  Proven experience in implementing supply chain agility improvements.

Role Impact:

•  This person will need to think and act on Global basis in almost every decision they make to ensure efficient product supply into South Africa.
•  There will be an ongoing requirement for negotiations with external partners in order to improve production schedules, enforce overtime working and expedited deliveries from Sources of supply.

Problem Solving:

•  Problem solving will be a daily activity for this person as the demand volatility and supply constraints occur on an ongoing basis will require quick yet analytical thinking in order to make decisions which optimize Avon’s supply chain.

Key Influencers / Partnerships:

• This person will have regular verbal, physical and written contact with senior management levels within Avon Justine as well as external counterpart s which will include formal presentations and report in addition to informal discussion s and best practice sharing.
• There will be an ongoing requirement for negotiations with external partners to improve production schedules, enforce overtime working and expedited deliveries from Sources of Supply.
