Job Purpose

To develop high level end to end design and Macro design in the context of the high level solution architecture to realise the business requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• On-boarding of data into a Data Warehouse environment
• Develop, test and implement programs from supplied specifications to extract, transform and load data into various data warehouse constructs
• Perform root cause analysis and impact assessments and implement solutions
• Peer review and Quality assure the output of colleagues
• Optimisation of programs and applications
• Perform a technical lead role and mentor and coach junior staff
• Support production-related incidents to ensure that tight daily SLAs are met
• Professional application and demonstration of acquired knowledge across technologies, and/or in-depth speciality in a specific technology – e.g. Java, and SQL
• Actively participate in project teams as a core project member (incl cross functional forums and external parties)

Essential Qualification

• Diploma/Degree in IT / Programming.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in Java, and SQL

Minimum Experience Level

• Advise management on the technical readiness, risk and impact of the proposed implementation to production (including effective change management)
• Interpret the business requirements in order to create technical specifications across projects
• Deliver and coordinate coding work tasks according to technical specifications
• Accountability to ensure end to end testing through to sign off to ensure fault free production implementation
• Good knowledge of Java, and SQL
• Exposure to scheduling tools
• Advanced debugging ability
• Advanced understanding of testing practices
• Good understanding of data warehouse concepts

Advantageous but not disqualifier:

Knowledge of appliance technology in one or more of these disciplines;

• Ab Initio, Groovy, Kafka, Python, Spark, Denodo, IIDR, Nifi, and Spark will be a big plus
• Exposure to IBM Banking Data Warehouse Model - preferably
• Basic understanding of Linux – Shell scripting
