Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the tax function as well as ensuring strategic tax planning, compliance, risk management, and alignment with overall business objectives.

You Bring:

• Bcom Honours qualification or related finance post graduate degree.
• Registered as a Tax Practitioner.

A Bonus To Have:

• Qualified CA (SA)
• M.comm qualification  

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

• Oversee all tax compliance (CIT, PAYE, VAT, Customs and other applicable taxes).
• Review and sign off tax returns and calculations.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise the group’s tax position.
• Manage SARS audits, disputes, and engagements.
• Provide technical tax advice to business units and leadership.
• Identify and mitigate tax risks across the organization. 
• Document processes and controls.
• Manage and mentor tax team members.
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and assess business impact.
• Liaise with external advisors and auditors.
• Oversee external audits and deliverables.
• Manage and review all tax health checks conducted across the group.
• Provide tax training.
• Oversee and manage VDP applications.
• Research ad hoc tax issues to identify and propose solutions.
• Assist with the preparation of Transfer Pricing and CBCR documentation.
• International tax – provide support to Group Tax manager on international tax compliance and other related matters.
• Support the Group Tax Manager & CFO in the overall tax function, compliance, and the effective management and administration of all tax matters across the Group.
• Provide tax support to the tax team and finance team.
• Adapt to a changing work environment and accommodate changing demands.
• Strong technical tax expertise (Corporate Tax, VAT, International tax advantageous).
