Team Lead (Endpoint Management Team) at Datacentrix

The Job

Our external client is currently recruiting for a Team Lead in their Endpoint Management Team to assist the Team Manager with Leading the Endpoint Management Team (a team of 5 people), with the support of store-based infrastructure and MDM / EMM / UEM platforms.

Responsibilities :

• Assist in the design, development, implementation, testing and/or modification of computing systems, Operating Systems and associated software.
• Create technical specifications and/or support documentation for operating system support activity, desktop hardware and related products or services.
• To administer a Microsoft Active Directory Domain and core Microsoft
• Windows roles and features such as Group Policy and DNS .
• Resolve Incidents and fulfil Service Requests using a service management ticket queue and Change Management processes
• Regularly perform housekeeping duties to keep OU hierarchy clear of stale, unused, expired, and objects no longer needed.
• Create, manage and troubleshoot Active Directory Group Policies to configure all systems and images.
• To assist with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Manage the SCCM engineers responsible for using the tool to support the user and store environments
• Ensures patches/updates for the workstations are pushed in a timely manner
• To configure and manage operating system deployments (OSD)
• Configure and manage operating system deployments (OSD) across the LAN as well as offline media
• Manage multiple images/task sequences for deploying PC’s to the organization
• Assist and lead troubleshooting of image deployments and task sequences.
• Work closely with Server and Network Administrators to achieve optimal configuration of all applications.
• To assist with IBM BigFix
• Perform Endpoint Services via BigFix including patch rollout, software distribution
• Understanding of BigFix/TEM relevance language
• Use custom fixlets, analysis and baselines as per requirements
• Research new software and tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Responsible for understanding end-user computing environment and providing guidance and recommendations to customer based on industry best practices for Windows OS Management, including software deployments, patch management, and OS Deployment
• Perform proof of concept tests on new technologies for stores and device management.
• To assist in design and operate a Modern Workplace Infrastructure for devices of Company (UEM)
• Worked with ITIL processes, incident, and change and problem management, ideally together with external IT service partners.
• To be involved with the entire lifecycle of a UEM / EMM / MDM solution from design through implementation, deployment and training.
• Troubleshoot all aspects of the UEM solution effectively and understand the product flow encompassing software distribution, patch management, operating system deployment and logging in detail.
• Ability to create and manage profiles, manage apps and create compliance rules using an MDM platform (VmWare Workspace ONE/ Intune/ SCCM).

Qualifications      

• Grade 12 (Matric) with relevant IT certification is essential
• MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer): Infrastructure Engineer (3-5 years)
• MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer): Desktop Infrastructure (5-10 years)
• Administering and Deploying System Centre 2012 Configuration Manager (3-5 years)
• IBM BigFix (1-2 years)
• Extensive Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (5-10 years)
• Extensive experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (3-5 years)
• Experience with IBM Bigfix (1-2 years)
