Team Leader: Accounts Payable at Liberty Group South Africa

Purpose

• To support the Manager, in managing the Accounts Payable team to effect invoice processing, payments, Supplier accounts reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, handle exceptions and queries, administer products and meet stakeholder needs through various channels in order to provide consistently high levels of customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

• BA Degree and Higher Diploma in Finance, Economics, Accounting 

Experience Required

• Proven experience 3-5 in a leadership role
• Proven experience 2-3 of in-depth accounts payable experience to include 2 years of international A/P experience.
• Processing financial transactions on the bank system, running reports and ensuring efficient and timeous financial operations.
• Must have relevant experience in managing a diverse team and setting team goals
• Experience in team leadership or management, including the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Project Leadership: Lead or participate in special projects related to accounts payable, such as system implementations, process redesigns, or cost-saving initiatives.
• Keen understanding of the SA Exchange control requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing effective leadership to a centralised operational team. To work towards achieving industry best practice within financial operations by building a pro-active and multi-skilled team capable of consistent, timely and efficient execution of prescribed policies and procedures aligned to the Group objective and strategic intent for the Group Operations. 
• Responsible for managing the processing of invoices, staff expense claims, Queries Management, Supplier and Balance sheets Accounts reconciliations, Domestic and Offshore payments executions within agreed turnaround times and SLAs
• Responsible for keeping abreast of trends and developments in the organisation which could have an impact on the Accounts Payable team.
