Team Leader at McCain Foods

The successful incumbent is responsible to lead and supervise an engineering team to maintain plant equipment in good operational condition to ensure that plant availability is maintained and equipment functions at the required standard. The person will also participate in executing complex installation, faultfinding and repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform asset care activities as required by the company maintenance systems and procedures, including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders;
• Carry out planned and autonomous maintenance, to reduce unplanned maintenance and optimize plant availability;
• Ensure proper documentation of changes/modifications; Ensure availability of critical spares for all process control equipment;
• Oversee contractors, and commissioning of projects; and ensure total adherence to all safety, health and environmental procedures and guidelines as well as all other company policies and procedures
• Control the use of spare parts improve efficiency and safe cost.
• Supervise employees to ensure that employees achieve their KPI’s and employees are fully engaged.

Requirements

• Minimum requirement is a Millwright red seal (Trade Test), with minimum 5-years’ experience (post trade test) in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment within a FMCG Industry, preferably within the Food Industry
• Nated N4 – N6 qualification
• Preference will be given to candidates with 2 years supervisory experience
• Strong technical and analytical skills & understanding of mechanical and electrical tasks relevant to the production equipment environment
• Strong understanding of SAP Plant Maintenance, PM and maintenance best practices
• Ability to effectively manage & organize multiple/conflicting priorities in a fast changing and sometimes ambiguous environment
• Knowledge and experience in the overhauling of pumps, packaging and production equipment, conveying equipment, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Medically fit and willing to work in cold and stressful environment
• Willing to work shifts as and when required including over weekends
