    Team Leader - Project Manager (Industrial Refrigeration)

    Responsibilities / Tasks

    • Manage and complete complex refrigeration Projects from receipt of order through commissioning and hand-over to the client, whilst controlling and mitigating risk
    • Assist your team members on their refrigeration projects as required, to ensure quality, on-time delivery, cost management as well as HSE standards are maintained.
    • Assist Sales team with costing pertaining to the installation requirements when required.
    • Provides feedback to the Head of Project Realization on project performance overall and financial.
    • Controls team expenses to meet budget guidelines.
    • Produce Project Reports and POC Forecasts by consulting with Project Managers and report back.
    • Manage and develop sub-contractors and suppliers.
    • Ensure sub-contractors SLAs are in place and current on all projects.
    • Align and meet with finance division on priority creditor payments and cash flow forecasts as required.
    • Ensure project realization complies with Health, Safety, Environment & Quality regulations and policies and where possible exceed industry standards.
    • Lead your direct reports to ensure they adhere to company protocol and standards.
    • Manage team members leave approvals based on workload and encourage leave for a healthy working environment.
    • Ensure that all orders received are assigned to a Project Manager and sub-contractors.
    • Ensure that projects are completed within the relevant budgets.
    • Ensure that timesheets are completed weekly for overhead recovery purposes.
    • Ensure that regular meetings take place with project realization staff to assess project health.
    • Ensure that the monthly invoicing on all projects for your team is completed and submitted to the clients.
    • Ensure that all invoice payments are followed up to keep the debtors book clean.
    • Ensure that projects are ‘closed’ off to ensure that the monthly financial targets are met.
    • Ensure that all completed projects are ‘Admin Closed’ in accordance with the Accounting Department requirements.
    • Conduct close-out /lesson’s learned feedback sessions with project managers and report back.
    • Prepare formal agendas and minute discussions to ensure responsibility and timeous completion of tasks.
    • Implement Project Management templates (PPP)
    • Attend to clients’ queries/complaints to promote satisfaction levels.
    • Assist Project Managers with the required training to maximize their skill levels.
    • Motivate and coach team members continuously.
    • Ensure that team members receive the correct HSE training and certification is up to date.
    • Summary: Manage and take responsibility for essential activities in your team incl.: Project programming, Engineering, Ordering, Expediting, Installation, Commissioning, Drawings, Cost Control & Reporting
    • Other duties may be assigned from time to time as the need arises.

    Your Profile / Qualifications

    Educational Background

    • Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
    • Formal training in Project Management (PMP etc.)

    Professional Knowledge And Experiences

    • 10 years’ experience in project management, specifically in industrial refrigeration field
    • 5 years’ experience in supervisory, team lead role
    • Professional development seminars and workshops in project management, HSE, Leadership
    • SAQCC Authorized Refrigeration Gas Practitioner registration

    • English (read, write, and speak)

    • Team player, good net-worker and negotiator
    • Very good communication skills
    • Strong customer orientation and ability to engage with customer on senior level
    • Strong understanding of profit and loss
    • Demonstrated experience in supply and install project costings
