Technical Lead (SQL) at Paracon

The Job

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the technical aspects of the solution delivery and systems within the IT domain;
• Understanding the focus and direction of the business; prioritising and driving delivery that helps to achieve this;
• Defining the technical direction for the domain and ensuring the quality of technical solutions, whilst maintaining standards and managing the impact introduced by changes across domains;
• Identifying areas for continuous improvement of both systems and architectural standards and helping to drive implementation; and,
• Managing a team of developers (+/- 5 developers) in the domain. This will in all aspects of people management, assigning work as well as ensuring the correct skills are always available.

To apply, you need to have a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Science or related technical discipline coupled with 8+ years’ professional development experience (Must be at a Senior Developer level).

You experience and/or knowledge must cover the following:

• Exceptional skills writing SQL for Microsoft SQL server, including stored procedures, UDF’s and other T-SQL Querying;
• Data integration, validation and reconciliation (SSIS or similar);
• Reporting technologies (SSRS, PowerBI or similar);
• Data analysis and performing complex data manipulation using Microsoft SQL;
• Designing and implementing relational and dimensional database structures;
• Creating and maintaining cubes (SSAS); and,
• Fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms.

It will be an advantage if you have AWS Cloud implementation experience as well as exposure to PostgreSQL.
