Technical Manager at KWV

Minimum Requirements:

• B Eng Degree Mechanical Engineer or related
• Certified Engineer, holding a Certificate of Competency to General Machinery Regulation 1(d)
• Wine Industry environment experience would be advantage
• Experience of electronic control systems would be advantageous
• 10 years’ experience in Process & Manufacturing Engineering
• 3 years’ experience in applying Project Management Techniques
• 5 years’ experience in managerial position
• Experience in Occupational Health & Safety

Job Summary:

• Oversee the development and verification of process mapping in conjunction with the Industrial Engineer of all machinery and equipment
• Responsible for preventative maintenance management as stipulated in world standard
• Keep up to date with industry developments on product scientific and technical matters
• Compile and manage departmental annual OPEX budget and Operations CAPEX budgets for different business units
• Advise Business units on appropriate CAPEX to ensure productive and cost effective growth of the business (Paybacks/ROI)
• Effective cost management & supply of KWV utilities (water, effluent, electricity)
• Manage and advise the company on appropriate environmental practises to ensure statutory requirements to mitigate risk
• Manage the overall security contract
• Appointed as GMR2 for KWV to manage and monitor all GMR2 equipment on site
• Ensure compliance of KWV to all OHASA Standards and ensure the management of all contractors on site to mitigate risk
• Ensure the Health and Safety are met and in line with statutory requirements
• Manage the Technical Department and drive Departmental goals in line with the Operational strategy
