Technical Manager at Unitrans

Job Advert Summary    

• Responsible for small to medium projects. Ensures projects are completed within the time and cost limit as well as to the agreed specifications.
• Responsible for co-ordinating the different groups involved in the project.
• Ensures detailed engineering layout is carried out in an economically efficient way.
• Reports progress of project on a monthly basis. Establishes and maintains relationships with clients.

Minimum Requirements    

• Required qualification: Masters Diploma / NQF level 8
• Years of experience: Up to 4 years in a similar role

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Knowledge of the industry and operations
• Ability to analyse and evaluate market trends

• Excellent reporting and presentation skills
• Ability to research and study industry and related topics (environmental scanning)
• Expenditure Control
• Appropriate corrective action regarding cost exceeding budget is timeously taken
• Compile and review annual budget.
• Monitor all Divisional workshop operations
• Vehicles are inspected after servicing and repairs
• Quality standards are maintained
• Vehicles are test driven after a service or a repair
• Necessary arrangements are made when a vehicle accident or incident occur
• All legal requirements are complied with
• Stock checks are done randomly and signed
• Close contact with suppliers of stock is maintained to ensure quality and service
• Tyre maintenance standards are maintained, and spot checks are done
• Weekly service schedules are completed
• Fleet disposal and purchases
• Documents are checked for accuracy and the correct completion
• Service board is updated daily
• Monthly reports are submitted timeously, according to the prescribed format
