Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager of Maintenance Engineering and will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Develop contingency plans and manage risks during planned and unplanned events. 
• Manage Service Level Agreement (maintenance and supply). 
• Adherence to municipal by-laws. 
• Conduct continuous Audit and quality control (activities and contractual) and implement remedial action where required. 
• Design, plan, construct and maintain infrastructure projects. 
• Contribute to the development of a Maintenance Operational plan, SOPs and performance standards to ensure effective and efficient delivery of Civil Operations. 
• Ensure implementation of continuous improvement of the equipment/infrastructure 
• Provide input into the development of maintenance planning programme and execution thereof. 
• Prepare, specify, scope of work and technical requirements. 
• Utilise benchmarking, surveys and data to continuously improve the Civil Maintenance operation. 
• Manage availability of assets through continuous monitoring and verification. 
• Ensure proactive operational planning. 
• Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices.
• Conduct continuous Audit and quality control (activities and contractual) and implement remedial action where required.
• Prepare, specify, scope of work and operational requirements.
• Provide Input into allocated budget. 
• Compile and submit relevant statistics and performance reports. 
• Identify and report possible efficiency enhancements and initiatives to ensure resource savings. 
• Provide relevant and specialised technical support in area of expertise to relevant stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience will be required:

• Diploma, NQF Level 6 in Civil Engineering or relevant field is essential. 
• 3 years operational/ specialist experience in Infrastructure Maintenance is essential. 
• A Valid Code B drivers' licence is required. 
• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
