Purpose of Job

• Accountable to the Area Manager for the development and review of equipment maintenance strategies
• Accountable to the Area Manager for standardisation of the equipment, including GO procedures, QCPs and BOM’s
• Actively drive Work Management systems and performance of area to ensure maintenance strategies are optimized in area of responsibility.
• Competent and certified to develop and maintain equipment maintenance strategies.
• Give inputs into the maintenance budget from asset standardisation and asset maintenance strategies
• Improve the asset performance (up the availability) through improvement plans and actions steps in area of responsibility.
• Have a clear understanding of the Sasol Operations Standard Framework and assist the AM to execute to standard and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist the Area Manager as the project leader for shutdown executions (from front end loading to final clearance for operation)
• Assist the Area Manager in his management systems to ensure a safe and reliable operation.
• Facilitate RCA for identified equipment failures to assist in cost effective maintenance.
• Update BOOTH data base system.
• Assist foreman with technical issues.
• Responsible to update relief valve register
• Ensure PHL compliance wrt work management system.
• Holistic audit compliances.
• Shutdown planning & coordination of preparation and execution.
• Perform mechanical foreman standby duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driver's license (Must)
• In addition to a pre-employment medical examination, some positions may require a physical fitness assessment as part of the normal selection criteria.

Formal Education

• Gr 12/ N3 with Mathematics, Science and English (Must)
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Must)

Working Experience

• Minimum of 3 years relevant technical experience (Must)
• Experience in quality control system, fault finding and leading RCA
• Practical experience of project management will be to your advantage
• Certified meridian technician will be to your advantage
• Knowledge on OSHA Act 1993 and static maintenance pressure vessels
