Overview

• Our client is looking for a Telesales Clerk / Student Liaison Officer to join the team.
• This is a hands-on sales and student recruitment role for someone who is confident on the phone, enjoys working with people and is motivated by achieving targets.
• You’ll speak to prospective students, explain programmes, follow up on enquiries and work with prospects through to registration. You’ll also be expected to generate your own leads and build relationships with businesses and professional contacts, including Credit Controllers, Credit Managers, Financial Managers and HR Managers.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12) 
• A relevant qualification or sales skills course (Advantageous) 
• 2 years' experience in telesales, sales or student sales recruitment
• Experience dealing with businesses, financial or credit departments, HR departments, or within the education and training sector (Advantageous) 
• Previous Debt collecting experience (Advantageous) 
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Strong telephone and telesales skills
• A confident, friendly and professional telephone manner
• The ability to persuade, negotiate and handle objections
• A target-driven and results-focused approach
• Strong follow-up and organisational skills
• Good computer literacy
• The ability to use LinkedIn and other digital platforms to generate leads
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to manage a high volume of calls and prospective students
• Resilience and persistence when dealing with rejection or objections
• The confidence to communicate with people at different levels of seniority

Key Responsibilities:

• Make a minimum of 60 outbound calls per working day
• Contact supplied leads and follow up consistently
• Identify prospective students' needs and recommend suitable programmes
• Explain programmes, admission requirements and registration procedures
• Handle questions and objections professionally
• Follow up with prospects by telephone, email, WhatsApp and other approved channels
• Convert suitable prospects into registered students
• Generate new leads through LinkedIn, social media, referrals, networking and other sources
• Re-engage previous enquiries and inactive leads
• Build and maintain an active sales pipeline
• Develop professional relationships with business contacts and decision-makers
• Assist students with the registration process
• Follow up on outstanding registration requirements
• Keep accurate records of calls, leads, follow-ups and registrations
• Maintain an up-to-date sales and registration pipeline
• Provide regular reports on activity, leads, conversions and registrations
• Work consistently towards daily and semester targets
