Job Responsibilities

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality:

• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)

Customers:

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction 

SAMANCOR CHROME WAY

Work execution:

• Applying fault finding techniques
• Conduct regular plant inspections
• Maintaining and/or repairing low level and high-level mechanical equipment 

Unplanned Interventions: 

• Perform isolation and issue lockout documents
• Attend to breakdown quickly and safely
• Capture all data related to the stoppage to aid in determining the root cause
• Communicate ways of improving how the breakdown was handled to the supervisor

Requirements 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 / N3
• Fitter Trade Test
• 3 Years’ relevant experience as Artisan Fitter
• Palletizing and Sintering Plant experience (Advantage)
• Conveyor belt experience (Safety devices)
• Knowledgeable of mechanical and hydraulic pumps
• Knowledgeable on centrifugal fans
• Basic water treatment knowledge
• SAP knowledge – Create notifications and be able to confirm.
• Knowledge of general electrical distribution in plants and buildings
• Knowledge and understanding of Over Head Cranes and Hoists
• Knowledge of air compress
• Must have own tools
• Must have own transport
