Job Description

• Our client, a global industrial technology and manufacturing leader, is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to drive export control, customs compliance, and trade governance across the SSA region. This is a specialist advisory role requiring strong legislative interpretation, compliance implementation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Global Trade Program locally.
• Advise stakeholders on trade regulations and compliance requirements.
• Conduct trade reviews, audits, and corrective actions.
• Localise and implement global SOPs.
• Drive export control, customs compliance, and awareness initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree: BCom Supply Chain Management, BCom Law/LLB, or BCom Accounting (Auditing/Taxation).
• Experience: 5+ years' permanent employment experience, including 3+ years in Trade Compliance with a focus on Export Controls.
• Experience at Manager or Senior Specialist level.
• Strong knowledge of South African customs legislation, DTIC, NRCS, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience developing and implementing SOPs.
• Must have served as a trade compliance advisor/custodian within an organisation.

Non-Negotiable Technical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of INCOTERMS.
• Export Controls and sanctions compliance.
• South African customs legislation and compliance.
• SAP GTS (Vision 11 or HANA) active daily user.
• Legislative interpretation, governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance
