    Trade Marketing Representative

    Purpose statement

    • The value proposition of a Sales Representative is to provide BATSA with a competitive advantage, ensuring that our portfolio of brands is available in the right place, in the right quantities, at the right time. Ensuring that BATSA has the opportunity to reclaim volume and drive stick initiatives, predominantly, within the Non-Organized channel.


    Principal accountabilities

    • Achievement of managing data accuracy, territory & financial assets efficiently.
    • Timely collection of payments and avoiding overdues and bad debts with the minimal disruption to sales by defining and allocating the right credit limit defined by credit policy to retailer.
    • Emphasis on right pricing leveraging commercial tools e.g. B2B, hawker programs etc. and ensuring stick price competitiveness is initiated and maintained.
    • Achievement of product visibility, retailer engagement and investment targets.
    • Implement and maintain planogram in accordance with executional guidelines on every call.
    • Educate, engage and motivate retailers to speak on BATSA products and brands to adult tobacco shoppers.
    • Achievement of product availability & quality, minimum out of stock status and distribution targets.
    • Ensure the right product mix availability at the right place aligned with Brand Coverage Targets. Across both carton, pack and stick where applicable.
    • Ensure that stocks are monitored and rotated at certain intervals for complying with the stocking policy of the company (FIFO - First In First Out) and returned product products collected aligned with the policy.
    • Ensure outlet database maintenance is performed bi-weekly and 100% accurately across current and new outlets registered.
       

    Knowledge, Skills And Experience

    • Tertiary qualification (preferably in Marketing) or Matric/Grade 12 qualification
    • Minimum 1 year of previous experience as a sales representative within a FMCG environment.
    • Valid Code 08 Driver’s license
    • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
    • Project management.
    • Strong commercial understanding
    • Product category understanding.
    • Inventory & stock management.
