    Transformation (B-BBEE) Specialist

    Full Job Description

    Job Advert Summary

    1. Support in the development and implementation of the Group Transformation (B-BBEE) strategy.
    2. Monitor and report on the Group performance in line with the Group Transformation Strategy and Financial Sector Code (FSC) Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) regulation requirements.
    3. Support in co - designing, developing, implementing, and monitoring strategies to achieve transformation objectives and goals in line with Group transformation strategy and the FSC B-BBEE scorecard.
    4. Facilitate awareness and training sessions for identified key internal stakeholders (i.e. pillar owners, BU colleagues) within the group.
    5. Provide technical support to key stakeholders on B-BBEE and the FSC.
    6. Engage with key external stakeholders, where applicable.
    7. Mange submission of annual B-BBEE data for audits and reports for B-BBEE compliance.
    8. Provide thought leadership and best practice relating to transformation and B-BBEE.

    Required Knowledge and Experience

    Experience

    1. Minimum: 5 Years B-BBEE transformation specialist role (i.e. ESD, preferential procurement, access etc.) – preferably within the financial services or Insurance Industry:
    2. 5 or more years experience in engaging with stakeholders (internal and external) on B-BBEE is essential
    3. 5 years experience in B-BBEE strategy development, awareness, implementation, monitoring and evaluation is essential
    4. 5 years experience in B-BBEE reporting is essential
    5. 3 – 5 years budget planning experience is advantageous

    Knowledge

    1. DTI Generic Codes
    2. Financial Sector Codes
    3. B-BBEE Legislature, Regulation and Compliance requirements per element
    4. B-BBEE Act
    5. FSC Codes and DTI Codes excellent knowledge and related materials
    6. Knowledge of various Charter Codes and any amendments to these codes
    7. Reading & Understand financial statements
    8. Computer literate
    9. Understanding of the systemic barriers to entry, the socio economic and political challenges.
    10. Sound understanding of the business of different stakeholders within the insurance value chain.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Design plans for the successful implementation of transformation initiatives (i.e. ESD, preferential procurement, empowerment financing, Access etc), where applicable for B-BBEE scorecard elements.
    2. Conduct regular internal audits on B-BBEE elements.
    3. Monitor, evaluate and provide feedback on transformation activities and/or initiatives
    4. Create and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders necessary for the effective implementation of transformation initiatives.
    5. Leverage initiatives and partnership opportunities with possible stakeholders.
    6. Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve set B-BBEE goals.
    7. Monitor, report on and provide feedback on key elements of the BBBEE scorecard.
    8. Ensure alignment to applicable processes and procedures
    9. Keep to all required records and evidence for adherence to BBBEE reporting and audit requirements.
    10. Engage with key internal stakeholders to ensure FSC B-BBEE compliance on all elements of the FSC Scorecard.
    11. Manage transformation elements on the scorecard and provide necessary support to key stakeholders
    12. Advise pillar owners regarding evidence required for FSC B-BBEE verification.
    13. Conduct internal B-BBEE verification preparation audits on elements of the scorecard.
    14. FSC B-BBEE Verification preparation: compile and validate all required supporting documents and evidence for FSC B-BBEE verification audits.
    15. Identify and provide awareness and training to internal stakeholders on FSC B-BBEE.
    16. Provide technical support to pillar owners/internal stakeholders on various different elements of the FSC scorecard
    17. Regular meetings with pillar owners.
    18. Where applicable, attend meetings relevant to BEE and its current changes.
    19. Manage BEE Toolkit/ SMARTSORE
    20. Stay updated on developments related to FSC and B-BBEE through attend courses and implementing required changes.
    21. Compile monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc FSC B-BEE Reports for Group reporting and to monitor key initiatives.
    22. Compile and submit Group FSC B-BBEE scorecard to applicable external stakeholders.
    23. Liaise with various stakeholders including other corporates, regulators, public institutions and Organs of State, where mandated to do so.
    24. Where appointed to do so, represent Hollard at industry level e.g. SAIA, ASISA.
    25. Brand reputation: Promote a positive image of Hollard by initiating, developing and sustaining effective business relations with all key stakeholders (customers, clients, government, partners, executive leaders, etc.) in the communities served by the organization.
    26. Manage consultants to ensure delivery on agreed SLA’s.
    27. Train or facilitate training for internal stakeholders on the relevant FSC B-BBEE Codes.
    28. Keep updated on all changes to the FSC and B-BBEE legislation.
    29. Analyse and communicate the impact of these changes to affected parties.
    30. Make recommendations with regards to transformation goal objectives and ensuring full compliance to all processes, policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement.
    31. Ensure customers are treated fairly and that TCF management is done in conjunction with the Academy.
    32. Maintain a high level of service to customers (internal and external) according to the service standards as set by the company.

    Educational Requirements

    NQF level 7 qualification:

    1. BCom Degree (BCom Accounting preferable) or equivalent business experience
    2. Management Development Programme B-BBEE certificate
