Transmission & Distribution Engineer at Zutari

Role responsibilities

• Earthing design in CDEGS or XGSlab for substations and IPP plants
• Substation Primary Plant design (Develop SLD, GA, Foundation and Steelwork Layouts, Sections, , amongst others)
• LV and MV Underground cable design
• Interpret standards and implement calculation formulas in excel
• Lighting design in Dialux and/or Relux.
• Compile BOMs
• Basic LV and Secondary Plant experience
• Preparation of technical documentation used in the tender process
• Prepare technical drawings and specifications based on the clients’ requirements
• Playing an active role in the management of project finances
• Growth and development of skills within the sub-unit
• Assist with marketing all related products and services in conjunction with the sector leaders
• Construction management of projects
• Performs highly complex engineering, design, calculations, analysis when required
• Prepare and settle final accounts on contracts
• Implement budget control and associated change control on contracts
• Assist in conducting risk analysis and reporting on contracts
• A team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines
• A team player excelling in the commitment of resolution of complex issues

Minimum requirements  

• B Eng or B Tech Electrical Engineer
• Professional registration or in the process of applying
• Minimum of at least 5 years relevant substation primary plant design experience in voltage levels up to 132kV
• CDEGS, CYMCAP, MATHCAD experience will be advantageous.
• Basic Microstation / Autocad skills
• Experience in using CDEGS simulation software for cable and earthing designs
• Experience in Transmission and Distribution related projects, substations
• Experience in protection, control, metering and telecommunication in substations and power plants
• Experience in MV Cable systems design
