Transport Officer at Unitrans

Job Advert Summary    

• Unitrans is seeking a Transport Officer to join the operation in Rustenburg, North West.

Duties will include: 

• Ensure 100% fleet and driver availability.
• Ensure 100% fleet cleanliness and maintenance in line with workshop service schedules.
• Controlling of shifts and oversee overtime work allocations.

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12.
• Valid code 14 license with valid PRDP.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in passenger transport.
• Computer literacy.
• Shift work.
• Able to work under pressure during peak periods - 24/7 operation.
• Clear criminal record and must be medically fit (Full).
• Able to work alone.
• Able to supervise staff.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Ensure 100% fleet and driver availability.
• Ensure 100% fleet cleanliness and maintenance in line with workshop service schedules.
• Controlling of shifts and oversee overtime work allocations.
• Ensure compliance to all customer requirements.
• Manage absenteeism and arrange substitute drivers.
• Ensure compliance to all company policies and disciplinary code.
• Ensure safety file is maintained and always kept up to date.
• Issue job cards.
• Ensure punctuality of vehicles to all shift allocations in line with customer requirements.
• Ensure vehicle inspections (pre & post) are done daily with defects
• reported and repaired timeously.
• Fill-in as a driver as and when there’s shortages.
• Maintain good customer service with all stakeholders.
• Reporting to Route Controller.
