    Senior Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric

    Job Description

    • We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric, data engineering and software development. The successful candidate must be comfortable writing code and have practical programming experience using C# and Python.
    • The candidate must have a strong understanding of modern data engineering principles and be able to design, develop, optimise and support scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, develop and maintain modern data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
    • Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation and integration pipelines.
    • Work with OneLake, Lakehouse and Fabric Warehouse.
    • Develop and optimise Data Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2.
    • Write and maintain production-quality code using Python and C#.
    • Develop and maintain Shell scripts to automate data processing, file transfers, job scheduling and operational tasks.
    • Use SQL and, where applicable, PySpark/Spark for data processing and transformation.
    • Develop data models and support Power BI and semantic models.
    • Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise data pipelines and data workloads.
    • Investigate and resolve data quality, performance and integration issues.
    • Ensure data solutions are reliable, scalable, secure and fit for purpose.
    • Translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
    • Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Architects and business stakeholders.
    • Support the implementation of best practices across data engineering, development and deployment.

    Requirements

    • 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering or a related technical data role.
    • 3+ years' strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
    • Valid Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) certification – Essential.
    • Strong programming and software development experience.
    • Proven hands-on experience writing code using C# and Python.
    • Hands-on experience with Shell Scripting.
    • Strong SQL skills.
    • Experience with OneLake, Lakehouse and Fabric Warehouse.
    • Experience developing Fabric Data Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2.
    • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data modelling and data warehousing.
    • Experience with Power BI and semantic models.
    • Experience with Azure/cloud-based data platforms.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

    Certification – Essential

    • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) – Valid certification required.

    Advantageous

    • Azure Data Engineering experience.
    • PySpark/Spark.
    • Azure Data Factory, ADLS or Synapse.
    • CI/CD and DevOps experience.
    • Data governance, security and data quality.

    • Our client, a leading South African banking group, is seeking an experienced Enterprise Change & Agile Transformation Lead to lead enterprise transformation, organisational change and Agile/business agility initiatives across a complex environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain the enterprise transformation strategy, roadmap, priorities and interventions aligned to business and Compliance IT objectives.
    • Assess current-state maturity, organisational readiness, systemic constraints and change impacts.
    • Lead change, adoption and sustainment, including stakeholder engagement, communication, learning, coaching, resistance management and benefits realisation.
    • Coach executives, leaders, product, delivery and technology teams on Agile, Lean-Agile and business agility.
    • Improve value flow, prioritisation, planning, dependency management, delivery predictability, feedback and continuous improvement.
    • Provide executive coaching and strategic advisory, challenging systemic issues and strengthening leadership accountability and decision-making.
    • Improve operating models, governance, roles, decision rights, prioritisation and collaboration without unnecessary bureaucracy.

    Minimum Requirements

    • 8+ years’ experience in enterprise transformation, organisational change, Agile transformation, business agility or a related field.
    • Proven experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
    • Strong experience working with and coaching senior executives and leadership teams.
    • Strong knowledge of Agile, Lean-Agile, organisational change and business agility.
    • Experience in operating model, governance and ways-of-working transformation.
    • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, influencing and conflict-resolution skills.
    • Experience with transformation metrics, maturity assessments, scorecards and benefits tracking.
    • Proven ability to identify systemic issues and implement practical, measurable improvements.
    • Experience developing internal transformation and Agile capability.
    • Strong communication, strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
    • Banking, financial services or other regulated enterprise experience is highly advantageous.
    • Exposure to digital transformation and responsible AI adoption is advantageous.

    Project Manager/PMU

    Job Description

    • Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the implementation and adoption of a new Grant Management System (GMS).
    • The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project management, system implementation, business analysis, SharePoint and change management, with the ability to bridge business requirements and technical delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the implementation of the new GMS, including weekly reporting, dashboards, issue tracking, bottlenecks and action plans.
    • Support data and document migration to the new system.
    • Drive change management and user adoption.
    • Co-create, document and obtain sign-off on Functional System Specifications (FSS) aligned to BRDs and the target design.
    • Document key functional and non-functional requirements, including data, interfaces, system behaviour, security, testing and validation.
    • Ensure requirements relating to technology and corporate costing, pricing and recoveries (TM1 and PCM) are addressed.
    • Align requirements to the Finance Modernisation Programme, including digitisation, automation, integration and costing/pricing models using SAP PaPM and potentially other SAP technologies.
    • Support technical teams with the interpretation and translation of FSS into TSS. TSS drafting is out of scope.
    • Provide clear recommendations and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in Project Management and Business Analysis.
    • Strong system implementation and change management experience.
    • Experience with SharePoint.
    • Strong requirements gathering, analysis and functional specification documentation skills.
    • Understanding of data, process, application and technology architectures.
    • Experience with SAP PaPM, TM1, PCM or similar costing/pricing environments will be advantageous.
    • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and documentation skills.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
    • Detail-oriented, collaborative and able to manage multiple activities and follow-ups.

    Key Deliverables

    • Approved FSS documentation aligned to BRDs and target design.
    • Actionable recommendations and requirements analysis.
    • Regular status, issue tracking and follow-up reporting.
    • Support for technical teams and successful system adoption.
