Ultrasound Radiographer Grade 1, 2 or 3 (Re-advertisement)
Appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with HPCSA in Ultrasound Radiography. Registration with HPCSA as an Ultrasound Radiographer. Current registration with HPCSA.
Knowledge of provisioning protocols, budgeting, expenditure, stocktaking, and stock keeping. Knowledge of maintenance procedures. Knowledge of strategic planning, problem solving.
Decision-making skills. Knowledge of tender systems and procedures as well as types of ultrasound equipment. Reliable, efficiency, competency, and accountability in service provision.
Adherence to Public Service Regulations and line function procedures.
In addition to the above:
GRADE 1 -Post graduate work experience required (0-1). More than 1-year work experience as a Sonographer will be an added advantage
GRADE 2 – A period of 14 years appropriate experience after registration with HPCSA as Diagnostic radiographer, of which 10 years must be after registration in Ultrasound Radiography.
GRADE 3 - A period of 24 years appropriate experience after registration with HPCSA as Diagnostic Radiographer, of which 20 years must be after registration in Ultrasound Radiography.
Duties :
Preparing patients for ultrasound examinations. Ultrasound departmental operational management. Production of high-quality ultrasound examinations for, general, paediatric, and obstetric sonography. Co-ordinate and assist in organisation of daily workload, appointment bookings and daily functional management of the department.
Maintain a high standard of patient care and safety. Must be able to work independently, without supervision and within a multidisciplinary team. Partake and facilitate CPD. Partake in Quality Assurance and student training in the working area. Efficient execution of tasks, in keeping with Batho-Pele principles and Ideal Hospital Framework policies.
Ability to learn new and advanced procedures while also broadening managerial knowledge. Ability and willingness to deal with crisis or disasters even outside working hours. Participation in Continuous Professional Development of self as well as subordinates. Good communication, interpersonal relations, and problem-solving skills.
Manage conflict and always implement corrective measures. Monitoring, control and ordering departmental stock. Perform any ad-hoc duties allocated by management. Maintain case records and statistics. Excellent understanding and knowledge of PACS and HIS within the institution. Supervision of staff.
