Underwriter (Short-Term Insurance – Transport Industry): Bloemfontein at FS Personnel Recruitment

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Relevant Short-Term Insurance qualification will be advantageous.
• RE5 qualification
• Class of Business completed (preferred).
• Minimum 3-5 years’ underwriting experience within the Short-Term Insurance industry.
• Previous experience with Commercial and Transport Insurance is essential.
• Experience with Goods in Transit (GIT), Fleet, Commercial Vehicle and Liability policies will be advantageous.
• Computer literate (MS Office).
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new and existing commercial and transport insurance policies.
• Assess insurance risks and provide suitable cover recommendations.
• Prepare quotations, policy amendments and renewals.
• Underwrite Goods in Transit (GIT), commercial vehicle, fleet and related transport risks.
• Review policy wording, terms, conditions and endorsements.
• Liaise with brokers, insurers and clients regarding underwriting requirements.
• Negotiate premiums, terms and conditions with insurers.
• Ensure underwriting complies with company and insurer guidelines.
• Assist with policy renewals and retention of existing clients.
• Maintain accurate client records and policy documentation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers and insurers.
• Provide professional advice on appropriate insurance solutions.
• Assist with claims queries where required.
• Ensure excellent customer service and turnaround times.
