The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating Quality Nursing Care by ensuring compliance with professional and ethical practice. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating training, development and mentoring of staff in the Unit. The incumbent will be expected to apply and manage the best and most effective operational practice by focusing on the integration of people, technology and financial drivers in ensuring that Unit costs are maintained within budget.
Requirements
Grade 12/Matric
Diploma in Nursing or B Degree Nursing Qualification is essential
A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualifications
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations
A relevant qualification in Critical Care Nursing is required
A relevant Management Qualification will be advantageous
Work Experience
Relevant experience in ICU / HC Unit is required
Relevant experience in clinical leadership is required
3 or more years’ experience
Knowledge
Intermediate computer skill is required
Knowledge of billing process and procedures required
