Warehouse Manager - Midrand at Holler Trade

POSITION OBJECTIVES

• Planning, administration and general management issues, which will include the day-to-day supervision of staff, and overseeing work organized by team leader(s).
• Communicating and liaising with buyers, staff groups and customers.
• Maintain statistical and financial records.
• Ensure that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational, work instructions, and policies and procedures.
• Complies with local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
• Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Managing and maintaining a fleet of vehicles as well as fleet capacity optimization, materials handling and flow optimization.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Distribution, Transportation, Management
• 10+ years’ experience working at a senior level in the Export / FMCG environment
• Ability to take action against people and give warning – first to final warnings – and have experience in Disciplinary hearings is essential.
• The ability to manage the Warehouse and Logistics is essential.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail is essential.
• Must have good numerical ability and an understanding of finance as well as good written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse.
• People management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work and explain ideas.
