    Washing Supervisor

    Job Description:

    • We are looking for a solar panel washing team supervisor with a diploma in electrical engineering, ready to lead a team to wash solar panels. You will work at heights and supervise the solar panel washing team. You will carry out any other scheduled maintenance activities and submit scheduled maintenance reports as per the issued scheduled maintenance requirements.
    • Due to this job's high risk, you must be responsible with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also have a diploma in electrical engineering and knowledge of solar PV system operation and maintenance.
    • We will provide training in relevant solar applications, our scheduled maintenance requirements, working on heights and; therefore, specific solar experience is not a requirement but an advantage. The goal will be to lead a solar panel washing team, carry out scheduled maintenance and submit reports on time.

     

    Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Panel washing team management and supervision of several sites and team members
    • Inspection of work
    • Manage the work schedules of the team and reallocate to cover absences or changed priorities
    • Perform scheduled maintenance on a solar PV system.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
    • Manage relationships with our internal and external customers when operating queries, concerns, and on-site work needs to be completed. 
    • Actively promote Health and Safety, and report any breach directly to the Manager.
    • Ensure that all staff wear all appropriate PPE.
    • Any other job duties as required.
       

    PERSON DESCRIPTION

    Experience:

    • Can supervise a team and not be afraid to get hands dirty to assist where needed
    • Demonstrate a willingness to work on heights.
    • Thorough knowledge of health and safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
    • Able to effectively multitask, prioritise and meet strict deadlines.
    • Valid driver's license and willing to travel.  
    • Resourceful and comfortable working in a high pace and changing environment. 
    • Computer literacy (MS Office).
       

    Advantageous Skills Include:

    Knowledge of:

    • Thorough understanding of solar PV operations and maintenance.
    • Solar systems operation and maintenance.
    • Health and safety apply to work on heights and a solar PV system.
    • SANS 10142 and NRS 097-2 standards specifically reference embedded generation.
    • DC and AC systems, networking equipment and industrial communication protocols like Modbus, RS485, Ethernet, etc.
       

    Work Conditions:

    • Overtime and working on weekends may be required to meet required deadlines.
